Polypropylene foam (Expanded Polypro⁃pylene, EPP) is a closed-cell foam material made by physical foaming using high melt strength polypropylene (HMSPP) as the resin matrix. It has excellent mechanical properties and heat resistance. It has the characteristics of good performance, wide range of foaming multiples, adjustable density, non-toxic and odorless, and 100% recyclable.

The automotive field accounts for about 50% of the EPP special material products market. In traditional automobiles and new energy vehicles, EPP special materials are mainly used to manufacture key automobile parts such as bumpers, instrument panels, tool boxes, sun visors and buffer blocks. They are one of the core materials for automobile lightweighting.
