In recent years, the new PET production capacity has basically come from large leading companies. The aggregate production capacity concentration of the top six companies in the industry is close to 60%. Compared with the early stage of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the industry concentration has further improved. The industry competition pattern has gradually evolved from a situation of full competition to an all-round competition pattern dominated by industry leading companies.

At present, there are more than 100 polyester production companies in my country, among which the companies with production capacity close to or exceeding 2 million tons mainly include Hengyi Petrochemical, Hengli Petrochemical, Rongsheng Petrochemical, Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fiber, Zhejiang Tongkun Group Zhejiang, and Zhejiang Xinfengming Group , Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group, Jiangsu Hengli Group, etc. These companies mainly produce polyester fiber, polyester chips, bottle chips, etc. The companies are mainly located in coastal provinces and cities such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Fujian, and Guangdong.

At the same time, with the upgrading of global consumption and the improvement of environmental awareness, PET, as a safe, environmentally friendly, high-performance engineering plastic, has continued to expand its applications in food packaging, medical equipment, electronics, automobiles and other fields, and market demand has continued to grow. Especially in Asia, with the continued economic development and the improvement of consumption levels, the demand potential of the PET market is still huge.

In addition, with the development of biotechnology, bio-based PET has gradually become an important trend in the PET industry. Bio-based PET can reduce dependence on petroleum resources, reduce environmental pollution, and meet the requirements of sustainable development. With the continuous advancement of biotechnology and the reduction of production costs, bio-based PET is expected to gradually replace petroleum-based PET, providing new impetus for the development of the PET industry.
