1. Protection function

As a packaging material, the protective function of plastic film for goods is the most important and basic function. If the plastic film does not have a reliable protective effect on the packaged goods, causing damage or depreciation of the goods, then it loses its use value as a packaging material. The protective function of plastic film for commodities is multifaceted, different commodities, different packaging forms, and the focus of the protective function requirements of plastic packaging film is also different.

2. Mechanical protection

Prevent the leakage of goods in the packaging or the damage and pollution of goods caused by external substances entering the packaging. The performance indicators that directly reflect the mechanical protection function of plastic films are mainly the mechanical strength of the film, such as tensile strength, tear strength, falling impact strength (falling impact) and puncture resistance.

3. Good welding strength

Weld strength is also necessary for plastic film bags to reliably protect goods. If the strength of the weld is insufficient, the weld will become the Achilles heel of the plastic film bag, and the plastic bag will lose its protective effect on the product due to the cracked weld.

4. Barrier performance

Barrier performance refers to the ability of plastic film to prevent the penetration of oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other gases, aroma, water vapor and other substances. The quality of the plastic film on the display effect of the product is closely related to the light transmittance, haze, gloss, antistatic, and printability of the film itself, and it is necessary to pay attention to the light transmittance and haze enough.

5. Light transmittance and haze

Light transmittance and haze are important indicators to determine the visibility and clarity of packaged goods, and have a great relationship with the display effect of goods. Both transmittance and haze are expressed as percentages, the higher the value of light transmittance, the better the transparency of the film, and the larger the haze, the greater the turbidity of the object observed through the film, that is, the worse the clarity.

6. Gloss

Glossiness indicates the reflective ability of the plastic film when exposed to light, and is expressed as the percentage of the brightness of the sample in the forward reflection direction relative to the standard surface.

7. Antistatic

With the rapid development of the electronics industry, the integration of electronic circuit boards is getting higher and higher. Packaging products with antistatic film prevents static electricity from damaging integrated circuits.

8. Good smoothness

Good slip is conducive to the smooth movement of the film on the packaging production line during packaging, and avoids damage due to excessive resistance during its movement. The slip properties of a film can be described by the magnitude of its coefficient of friction. The smaller the coefficient of friction, the better the slip properties.

9. High temperature resistance

It is often necessary to consider the high and low temperature resistance of the film, such as refrigeration, especially the use of plastic packaging film for frozen food, which needs to have good low temperature resistance; Plastic packaging film for retorted food needs to have good high temperature resistance, etc.

10. Hygienic performance

When packaging food or pharmaceuticals, the selected plastic packaging film must have good hygienic performance and meet the requirements of relevant national health standards to ensure that the plastic film will not cause pollution to the packaged goods.

11. Air tightness

It has good air tightness and can effectively block the exchange of gases inside and outside the packaging container, which is necessary for most products.

12. Moisture-proof

Good moisture resistance is a means to effectively protect the goods, and the moisture resistance of general plastic films increases with the increase of thickness and decreases with the decrease of temperature.

13. Oil resistance

For oily foods, such as sausages, bacon, etc., the packaging film must be oil-resistant, otherwise the product quality will be affected.

Different industries consider different priorities, in the selection of plastic packaging film, under the premise of meeting the standard, try to choose a relatively low price variety, in order to save packaging costs, reduce costs, improve competitiveness.
