How to better choose PET protective film

2023-12-29 14:34

With the popularization and application of protective films, smart product decorations such as screen protective films and PET protective films have also developed rapidly, especially PET protective films are in high demand. However, in the actual purchase of PET protective films, many users do not actually know how to choose a suitable ET protective film in the face of a wide variety of PET protective film products on the market.

1. Transparency

This point is difficult to identify with the naked eye. It is best to use optical instruments to measure it. Another stupid way is to cut a small piece of each type of protective film to be selected and place it in the middle of the computer desktop in order, and then open a blank WORD file. , check the whitening degree of the areas with and without film or the blank WORD files in different film areas (professionally speaking, it is called brightness). By comparing them separately, you can choose the brightest material whose transmittance is the best protective film.

2. Haze

The haze is mainly measured when the monitor is turned off. After the different protective films to be selected are affixed in sequence, the more obvious the background color of the screen, the smaller the haze. Of course, the material is better. If you use black in this method, The difference is easier to see with the test board. Another method is to turn on a fluorescent lamp in a slightly dark room, peel off the upper and lower release films of the protective film, hold it with your hand between your eyes and the light, and look carefully to see if there is a layer of mist protecting it. Evenly distributed in the film, that is the culprit that affects the haze. The more serious this haze is, the greater the haze is and the worse the material is. On the contrary, it is better; note that haze will affect the transmittance, but it is not related to the haze. Transmittance is two different concepts!

3. Static electricity

Because the LCD is a sensitive device and is afraid of static electricity, the smaller the static electricity the better when applying the protective film. The test method is to prepare the protective film to be tested (three layers of material or two layers of material), smoke a cigarette and knock some ash on the table. Or put some small paper scraps on the table, then peel off the top layer of protective film (this step is required for 3-layer materials), then peel off the protective film with silicone layer, and then peel off this layer of protective film. Immediately bring the use layer (silica gel surface) close to soot or paper scraps to see if the protective film will adsorb these things to the silicone layer of the protective film and whether the degree of adsorption is strong. The stronger it is, the higher the static electricity generated by this material is and the worse the material is, and vice versa, the better it is.

4. Anti-scratch

This is what everyone is most concerned about, and it is also a problem that has been basically solved by all manufacturers. At present, the scratch-resistant materials in the industry are basically the same (2-3H) and have good properties. There are only scratch-proof and non-scratch-proof. The standard method is to use a Japanese Sanling brand pencil with a hardness of 3H (available in stationery stores) and push it 10 times at a 45-degree angle with a force of 500G. If there is no scratch, it is considered to be 3H. Hardness requirements. The simple method is to use a slightly hard metal device or a newly cut fingernail to scratch the surface of the material with the strength of a normal stylus. If it is very easy to scratch, it is considered not scratch-resistant. If there is no scratch, it is considered to have anti-scratch function. . Cutting and processing manufacturers should pay more attention to the uniformity of the scratch resistance of the entire piece or batch of materials, because currently some material manufacturers have not achieved adequate coating uniformity.

5. Is it anti-fingerprint?

As the screen size has become larger and larger in recent years, and more and more smart phones are equipped with capacitive screens (touched with fingers, unlike the old-fashioned resistive screens that need to be scratched with pen points), protective films are increasingly needed. It has anti-fingerprint function. Now such products are expected by more and more customers.
