PET sheet production process

PET sheets are currently used in a wide range of applications on the market. Due to its good performance, it can be used to manufacture various packaging materials, handicrafts or display materials. When manufacturing PET sheets, the raw materials and production process are the key factors that determine the PET sheet. The main factor of material quality,

today we will talk about the production process of PET sheets.

First of all, before producing PET sheets, we need to slice the raw materials through a crystallization tower and then heat and crystallize them. This step is to arrange the molecules neatly, and then further increase the temperature and dry them. Drying is mainly because at high temperatures, water will degrade the PET sheet, reducing its adhesion and impact strength as the molecular weight decreases.

If the raw materials are not dried well, the physical properties of the PET sheet will deteriorate. Next, it can be extruded. After crystallization and drying, PET will transform into a polymer with a clear melting point.

It can be extruded into the required shape and thickness through an extruder to ensure smoothness. Then, it can be cooled and shaped.

During the shaping process, the three-roller calender needs to keep the head distance at about 8cm to prevent it from affecting the smoothness of the PET sheet.

After that, the PET sheet can be obtained through traction and coiling.
