PC (polycarbonate) is a resin material widely used in the plastics industry. It has excellent light transmittance, good impact resistance and molding performance.

Optical properties

PC is very transparent, with a light transmittance of up to 90%, second only to PMMA and PS. Therefore, it can be used in various optical materials instead of glass.

Chemical resistance

PC is non-toxic and odorless, and can withstand weak acids, weak bases, neutral oils and some organic chemical solvents. The disadvantage is that the hydrolysis resistance is not high enough and it will turn yellow when exposed to ultraviolet light for a long time.

Mechanical properties

PC products are rigid, impact-resistant, and tough. They have high elongation and rigidity, bending strength, tensile strength, and good heat resistance and cold resistance. The disadvantage is that it has low fatigue resistance and is prone to cracking.

Electrical properties

PC has excellent dielectric strength and electrical insulation. Therefore, it is often used in the field of electronic and electrical appliances.

Thermal properties

The operating temperature range of PC is -60℃-120℃, the heat distortion temperature is 135℃-143℃, it is non-flammable and self-extinguishing. Has good heat resistance and cold resistance.
