Why is bioplastic the "aristocrat" of plastics?
2024-01-05 16:45The application field of oil-based plastics is relatively wide, but difficult to dissolve, and the application field of bioplastics is relatively narrow, but it can be recycled. Although the "high cost"
sets up this barrier for the practical application of bioplastics, it also confirms the truth that "things are rare
and valuable", so that it is included in the ranks of the "aristocrat" in the plastic industry.
In addition to the relative high cost of engineering construction, bioplastics do have advantages that
a variety of oil-based plastics can not compare: reduce the use of crude oil, degradable plastics can be
recycled, and no harmful chemicals such as ethyl carbamate. To this end, bioplastics have always been
called sustainable materials since their inception. As far as traditional oil-based plastics are concerned,
harmful chemicals such as ethyl carbamate have always been the "pain" in the plastic industry. The harm
to health of this toxic substance is so great that some homes and regions have now legislated to prohibit
the addition of ethyl carbamate in children's toys and infant products.
Recently, the European Commission rapid warning system for the non-food industry has again and again
due to the phenomenon that some of my domestic plastic toys contain diphthalate or plasticizer
exceeding the standard, and some of my domestic plastic toys have come to the customer warning
and adopted delisting countermeasures. In addition, the research and development of bioplastics
are obtained in natural plants. From the starch and protein contained in plants to obtain acrylates,
polylactic acid, etc., and then through various processing processes to produce biodegradable plastic
materials, which at a very large level to prevent environmental pollution and destruction of the natural
environment. In addition to expressing a friendly attitude to the natural environment of today's life,
bioplastics are also good to the natural environment of the body, so that they have been applied again
and again in the field of clinical medicine. For example, sutures are treated in various major and minor
surgeries.
