Why is PVC considered to be low pollution and environmentally friendly plastic products?

PVC is considered to be low pollution and environmentally friendly plastic products for four reasons:

Save resources

Compared with other products, the proportion of oil in PVC raw materials is only about 40%, and 60% of

 it comes from the endless salt on Earth. Thus, limited oil resources can be greatly saved.

Long service life

Compared with other plastics, such as high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, 

polypropylene, ABS and polystyrene, more than 50% of PVC products have a service life of

 15 years or more.

Prevent the planet from warming

The carbon dioxide emissions in the production and processing of PVC resin are lower than

those of other raw materials. For example, the carbon dioxide emissions in the raw material production

 of iron drainage pipes are more than 3 times that of PVC. 

The carbon dioxide emissions in the raw material production of a glass greenhouse of the same size 

are more than 53 times that of PVC.
